Same-flight travel companions

Someone on your flight, ready to help.

Thedal pairs travelers who would like a hand, often parents flying alone or first-time flyers, with fellow passengers already booked on the same flight who offer to help along the way. You agree the help and the price in the app, then fly together.

How it works

From flight number to fellow passenger

Everything happens in the Thedal app. Pick your side to see the steps.

  1. Step 1: Sign in with your phone

Enter your number and the one-time code we send you. Accounts are for adults 18 and over.

  2. Step 2: Add the flight

Flight number, departure and arrival dates and times with the time zone, and the airports, connections included. Book for yourself, your father, your mother or a relative.

  3. Step 3: Say what would help

Languages spoken, a gender preference or open to all, the support you would like, a photo, and the compensation you offer in USD.

  4. Step 4: Connect on the same flight

Companions listed on exactly the same flight show up as matches. Send a request or answer theirs. Either side can counter-offer the price with a note.

  5. Step 5: Chat, pay and fly

Accepting confirms both trips and opens the chat. Pay your companion from your in-app wallet when you are ready, and meet up on travel day.

Matches are simply people on the same flight: same airports, flight number and times. You read each profile and decide who to connect with.

What you can ask for

Help you can ask a companion for

When you create a request you tick the kinds of help you would like. Your companion sees them, and you agree the details together in chat before the flight.

Companions are fellow passengers helping out, not airline staff, carers or medical professionals. They can say yes or no to anything you ask.

  • Airport navigation

Finding check-in, security, the right gate, and the way through a connection.

  • Baggage

A hand with cabin bags, overhead bins and the walk to baggage claim.

  • Mobility

Walking at a comfortable pace and a steady arm. Book wheelchairs through your airline.

  • Language

Reading signs and announcements and talking to staff in a language you share.

  • Medication reminders

A nudge at the times you share. Reminders only: companions are not medical staff.

  • Travel anxiety

A calm, friendly face for a first flight or a nervous flyer.

Pricing and payments

No fixed fee. You agree the price.

Thedal keeps a 10% platform fee on the agreed price. Everything else goes to the companion.

  • You set the price together

Travelers offer an amount in USD and companions ask for one. Either side can counter-offer with a note, and the back-and-forth stays on the request.

  • Top up a USD wallet

Add money to your in-app wallet by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.

  • Pay from the wallet

Once a match is accepted, the traveler pays the companion from their wallet when they are ready.

  • Companions withdraw to their bank

The companion receives 90% of the agreed price and withdraws it to their bank account through Stripe Connect.

Safety, honestly

What the app does, and what it doesn't

Thedal connects people who are already on the same flight. Here is what is built in, and where your own judgment matters.

Read the safety guide
  • Phone-verified accounts

Every account signs in with a phone number and a one-time code.

  • Chat only after a match

Messages open once a connection request has been accepted, not before.

  • Report and block

Report a message or block someone straight from the conversation.

  • Your gender preference

State the companion gender you prefer, or say you are open to all.

  • Share details with your match only

Keep phone numbers, seat and booking details for the person you matched with, inside the chat.
